Ashtyn Vandersloot, 20, Remembered After Fatal Valencia Road Crash in Tucson That Claimed Three Young Lives
The Tucson community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 20-year-old Ashtyn Vandersloot, who died in a crash late Saturday night.
The collision occurred on March 1, 2026, at the intersection of East Valencia Road and South Country Club Road in Tucson, Arizona.
Police reported that Vandersloot was driving a black BMW 750 eastbound on Valencia Road when it collided with a silver Buick Envision that was turning left onto South Country Club Road.
Investigators stated that speed appeared to play a significant role in the crash and are reviewing evidence as the investigation continues.
Two passengers in the BMW, 20-year-old Antonio Olalde and 18-year-old Grace Hobbs, also lost their lives.
A 19-year-old passenger survived with critical injuries and remains hospitalized.
The driver of the Buick, 55, sustained minor injuries and cooperated with authorities at the scene.
Friends and family remember Vandersloot as a vibrant young person whose life ended far too soon.
