Abigail G. Woods, 20, of Brookwood, AL, Dies After Early Morning Highway Crash in Tuscaloosa County
Abigail G. Woods, 20, of Brookwood, AL, died on March 21, 2026, after a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 43 in Tuscaloosa County, Ala.
Authorities said the crash happened at about 12:15 a.m. near the 207 mile marker, around 11 miles north of Tuscaloosa.
Investigators reported that Woods was driving a 2013 Ford Focus when it collided head-on with a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 17-year-old from Northport.
Woods suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The crash also claimed the life of Sierra N. Jackson, 19, of Cottondale, who was riding in the Ford, while two other passengers from Cottondale and the Silverado driver suffered injuries and received medical treatment.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash as the Brookwood community mourns Woods and remembers a life lost far too soon.
